Speedometer themes and styles

Quick answer: Speedometer PRO includes several speedometer themes that change the look of the dial and colours. Some are free and some, such as Racing, are marked Premium in the store screenshots. The best theme is the one you can read in a split second, so favour clear numbers and strong contrast over decoration, especially for driving.

TL;DR

  • Multiple dial and colour themes.
  • Some themes, such as Racing, are Premium.
  • Theme changes look, not accuracy.
  • Dark themes suit night and HUD mode.
  • High contrast helps in sunlight.

What themes change

A theme changes the speedometer's appearance: dial face, needle, colours and accents. It does not change how speed is measured. The app's default look in the screenshots is a dark interface with cyan accents.

Choosing for day driving

Sunlight washes out screens. Choose a theme with thick numerals and strong contrast, raise brightness, and mount the phone out of direct sun if you can. Overheating in a hot car can dim the screen automatically, so avoid leaving the phone in a windshield cradle in summer heat.

Choosing for night and HUD

At night, a dark background with a bright single-colour number is easiest on the eyes and reflects best in HUD mode. Lower brightness so the screen does not light up the cabin.

Speedometer themes and Premium

Premium themes, including Racing, require the optional upgrade. Prices are shown in the store before purchase; see pricing.

Choosing for conditions

Dark themes reduce glare at night and are easier on the eyes; bright themes can be easier to read in sun. Choose high contrast for a glanceable reading.

Premium themes

Some themes, such as Racing, are Premium. Prices are shown in the store before you pay.

Night tip

Use a dark theme with HUD at night.

Choosing a theme

Pick the theme you can read fastest. High contrast in daylight, dark at night; avoid busy colours that pull your attention away from the road.

Fun vs function

Racing-style dials are fun on a track day video or as a passenger. For daily driving, readability wins.

FAQ

How many themes are there?

The screenshots show several dial and colour styles, but we have not confirmed the full count yet.

Are themes free?

Some are free and some are Premium. The store screenshots mark Racing as a Premium theme, and the upgrade screen shows the price before you pay.

Do themes affect accuracy?

No. Themes only change colours, dial face and needle style. The speed always comes from the same GPS reading underneath.

Which theme is best for HUD?

A dark background with one bright colour for the number reflects most clearly in a windshield. Avoid busy dials with lots of small marks for HUD use.

Can I make my own theme?

Custom theme creation is not listed in the store descriptions, so we do not claim it. You choose from the themes the app provides.
